Permit to take
2017

Prompted by the public backlash to Nestlé Canada’s aggressive purchase of the Middlebrook Well, the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change established a two year moratorium on new permits to take groundwater for water bottling. The work incorporated the comments left by citizens on the Ministry of the Environment’s public consultation page regarding the moratorium as well as an ironic product launch for a new line of bottled water responding to the public’s concerns.  This work was made in collaboration with landscape designer Katie Strang and exhibited as part of the 2017 Grow Op exhibition, curated by Christine Leu and Alan Webb.
